What is the FundaCristo Scholarship Program?
Sponsoring a child in poverty is critical to committing yourself to releasing a child from poverty. In the communities where we serve the majority of the families make less than $2 per day. Our child sponsorship program connects you with one child, providing that one child an educational opportunity, and that is the most strategic way to releasing a child from poverty.
How does the Scholarship Program Work?
Through your monthly financial commitment, prayer, gifts, and letter writing, sponsors invest directly in the lives of children living in extreme poverty.
The children attend a private Christian school where they receive life-changing opportunities that would otherwise be out of their reach.
All FundaCristo scholars have the opportunity to develop their God-given potential through education and be released from the poverty that has trapped their families for generations.

Yes. The child you're helping has just one sponsor: You Are the Light of the World. Your prayers, letters and support mean so much to your sponsored child. Even if you choose to sponsor a child as a family or a group (for example, a youth group or a Sunday school class), the child you help will still be relating to your family or group as his or her only sponsor. No other group or individual will also sponsor the child you help.
What is a FundaCristo sponsor?
A sponsor is someone like you who has made the decision to personally invest in the life of a child in need. As a sponsor, you enable your sponsored child to attend a private christian school that offers life-changing benefits including help with:
And more than this, you can help your scholar child develop a sense of confidence and self-worth with the love you express through letters and prayers.
As a sponsor, you are assured that there is a real connection between you and the specific child you support.
We encourage you to send your scholar student photos of you and your family, and letters. Our staff will translate your letter and deliver it to your child. Students usually keep their sponsor's letters in their homes as treasured possessions. You are welcomed to write to your child as often as you want. When you write to your child, he or she will know that someone else cares. Your words will make a difference to your child. The more you write to your child the more he or she will reap the benefits of your relationship.
You can send your letters and photos to us at letters@fundacristo.com
Your scholar child will write to you two times a year. If after a year the sponsored child doesn't receive a letter, they will write that often too. We encourage you to write to your sponsored child as often as you would like. The children love to receive letters from their sponsors.
As a sponsor, you have many opportunities to communicate with the student you sponsor, and we encourage that relationship. When you are communicating with him or her, we ask you to provide content with the Christian values that we share. We will not forward materials that promote alcohol, tobacco, unlawful drugs, and materials that are related unsafe. We will not forward material that advocate another religious worldview. Please contact us before sending to make sure that it meets our standards and requirements.
